A Realized Answered Prayer: A Heart on Fire

Have you ever prayed for something and never realized it got answered? Better yet, you never realized you were living out a few scriptures by the Spirit? I did that on a couple of occasions and it just astounds me every time. God is simply amazing!

Well this particular prayer was that my heart would be more on fire for Him, as at the time I was having a severe case of ‘blahs’. If I told you I wasn’t in the mood for much else other than sleep, that would about cover it. It just crept up on me and I had NO idea HOW. All I knew was it wasn’t right, and without me realizing it He had answered my prayer, I was just a bit too ditzy to notice.

There were 3 scriptures I was given, and without realizing it by the Spirit I was walking it out shortly after yet I had no idea I was. LOL way to go Papa God totally goof proof, sonship for dummies ftw! *Looks up at Papa God* You get me to pray what’s on Your heart and You do it so I won’t mess it up. Bahahahaha!

Exodus 27:20 “You shall charge the sons of Israel, that they bring you clear oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.”

Mat 25:1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.”

Ok lemme give you a little backdrop on what Papa showed me in particular about the oil in Exodus there. It’s pure olive oil. It comes from the third press as it is the most refined/pure. Now the three primary (I say primary because there are more presses in some cultures, but I am referring to the Israeli culture) presses are in direct reference to Jesus!

First Press-This is medicine grade as most of the nutrients are still in it and it’s very potent/pungent. This is typically used as an anointing oil. The Shepherds would anoint their sheep’s head to keep the flies away and to reduce stress. How it relates to Jesus: Jesus was first ‘pressed’ as it were in the garden of Gethsemane and sweat great drops of blood. He bore our stress as well as our mental distress and condemnation there. That is where He prayed to have the cup removed but nevertheless He would drink the dregs anyways (Psalms 75:8).
Second Press-This is food grade commonly used in cooking. How it relates to Jesus: Jesus was ‘pressed’ so to speak when He was whipped at the whipping post. By His stripes we were healed (1 Peter 2:21-25; Isaiah 53:4-5), and we partake of this in a variety of ways but the one pertaining to this press in particular is communion. The bread, and the wine being His body and His blood.
Third Press-This is commonly used for soap, lotion, balms, and lamp oil as it is pure. How it relates to Jesus: He hung on the cross, His very blood cleansing us for the very remission of sins! By accepting His sacrifice, Holy Spirit comes and dwells in us we are now one! He is our comforter, so when things seem dry and parched He helps us to walk in the truth of the supply of the living water in us. He is our protective balm, and Holy Spirit shows us Jesus and that becomes the very fuel for our lamps (Luke 11:33-36; Philippians 4:8)!

Ok pause for a minute and just think about this so far. Chew your food so to speak.Take 5.

So back to Exodus, we’re now one new man a new Israel both Jew and Gentile. The oil mentioned in that verse would have to be pure for the lamps. That would be the third press! So the eye (lamp/mental faculty, Luke 11:33-36), having seen the beauty and magnificence of Jesus would burn brightly! So you get this awesome revelation of Jesus right, and you see another faucet of the beauty of the finished work. You’re stoking the fire!

So we see in Matthew there, that the Kingdom of Heaven would be like 10 virgins who took their lamps (eye/mental faculty) full of oil and to spare and went to go meet their bridegroom no holds barred straight up going for the bridegroom! Now many people have made so many interpretations of the following few verses that I need to just point something out real quick to give you peace and make your joy complete!

Mat 25:2 “Five of them were foolish (mōros-godless) and five were wise (phronimos- mindful of one’s interests>from the root phrēn- understanding).”

Ok so 5 of the virgins were godless. Are you godless? That can be fixed just get born again and enter the most amazing relationship ever known! The other 5 virgins? Their understanding is enlightened by Holy Spirit mindful of His heart and interests as one with Him in relationship with Him! One isn’t born again in relationship with Him, and the other is born again in relationship with Him! So all those teachings that this was somehow two groups of Christians and you could somehow fit in this bad group and you had to be careful and all this anxiety…well that sacred cow just got BBQ’ed right before your eyes and painlessly eh? Probably rather joyfully!

Ok, if for some reason you’re not excited so far take a few minutes and reread over a few things and just ponder it in your heart. “Chew” your “food” and pay attention to how Holy Spirit is manifesting as you ponder this word. If you’re not excited, you will find that He is and it is contagious! Take 5.

Welcome back! (That is if you did the ‘Take 5’) So, now we’re getting to another juicy part and the third scripture. How does all of this pertain to getting fired up in a fiery passion for Him? Ready?

Hosea 7:6 “Their hearts are like an oven; they approach him with intrigue. Their passion smolders all night; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.”

It’s simple. All that wonderful oil you just filled your lamp with? Ignite it in praise and worship before you go to bed! When you wake up you find your mind and heart is still focused on Him, and then the contagious warmth, joy, and manifest love floods you. It continues to blaze in you like a glowing hot iron and produces a noticeable glow. It’s like an after glow.

It’s like kindling before you get to the raging fire, you continue to add more and more to the lamp and it lights up in a full roaring blaze! You will also find you will start to visibly see the Kingdom of Heaven around you more. Without realizing it that fuel you’ve been adding to your lamp is the equivalent to a branch drinking from the vine and you realize you’ve been abiding effortlessly! You realize everything you ask for, seek for, or do is with a real heart behind it. There is more “meat” or “substance” evident in all you do! Oh wait, that would be because of Romans 10:17.

Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

That fuel you’ve been feeding your lamp is the finished work in Jesus Christ, your old nature passed away and you now have a New Nature as one in Christ! You’ve been feeding your faith! What, so what’s the big deal you say? If you’re not excited now, you’re about to be.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is the substance of your hope! Take a minute and chew. So what is your hope?

Romans 5:1-2 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.”

Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. “

John 10:10 NLT “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Psalms 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Ok pause for a minute and soak all this in. Take 5.

When your hope is in Christ, your confidence in Him is your substance and it becomes evident and Christ in you the hope of glory is revealed! So what are a couple of ways this glory is revealed? With long life will you be satisfied, and you will be shown His salvation goodness and mercy in time of need! Papa God wants to give you your heart’s desire, after all He put it there!

Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart”

Philippians 2:12-13 “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
